SECURITY AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS

This is where it all begins. In most cases, it has been proven that maintaining a positive security posture by developing a situational awareness mindset is crucial to mitigating the risks we face on a daily basis. Not only will these skills apply in our students’ everyday life when stateside (CONUS), but they become even more important when traveling/working overseas (OCONUS). We will discuss facts and lessons learned regarding: hostage taking, mitigating risk through basic and continuous assessment of one’s environment, recognizing possible attack indicators, and our roles and responsibilities pertaining to security as an individual. The goal is to reinforce the importance of staying vigilant, following protocols, and taking responsibility for your own safety and security.
